On display are 112 sketches, featuring typical images of Vietnam, from the buffaloes and bamboo trees to the gate of the Hung Kings Temple and Hanoi’s Flag Tower.

The exhibition also displays the originals of more than 100 pencil and colour drawings of the national emblem.

Some 15 sketches were submitted to the Government in October 1954 for consideration, and President Ho Chi Minh signed a decree on January 14, 1956 to publicise the official emblem of Vietnam.

Painter Bui Trang Chuoc, born in 1915 in Hanoi, graduated from the Indochina Fine Arts College, now known as the Vietnam Fine Arts University, in 1941. He was the first Vietnamese painter to design postage stamps in Indochina.

Various activities to mark 80 year of Outline of Vietnamese Culture

The national workshop, due to take place on February 27, will bring together managers, scientists, and practitioners of culture and art who will examine the historical significance, great value, and influence of the Outline of Vietnamese Culture over the past 80 years. Delegates will propose solutions to effectively promote the value of the document for the purpose of cultural and human development in order to meet the country’s requirements for sustainable development. Vietnam looking for talented foreign coach for men’s football team following Park’s departure

Vietnamese Coastline Hosts Sighting of Whale Shark

Nhat Phong, a local tour guide, reported that he and a group of tourists had a remarkable encounter with a shark during a boat trip to the coral reefs along Bai Dua Beach. The shark sighting occurred on Thursday at 11:45 am. Phong revealed that the tourists initially spotted the shark’s large fin on the water surface, which got them all excited. They requested the captain to turn the boat around for a closer look. As they approached, they noticed the shark swimming slower and appearing friendly. Phong and the tour group managed to capture footage of the four-meter shark, marveling at its size and the white spots covering its body. Initially, they mistook it for a whale.
