This is the Lao Prime Minister’s first visit to Vietnam after he was elected head of the Government of Laos on December 30, 2022. The visit takes place at a time when relations between the two countries are developing well, with a high level of trust developed in political ties. Special Lunar New Year Festival to be Celebrated in HCM City

Attendees of the event will have the opportunity to savor a total of 121 traditional Tet dishes from the north, central, and south regions. The highlight of the festival will be an exhibition showcasing Tet feasts, along with captivating performances of traditional music. The event will also offer a range of Tet dishes from different parts of the country. This year, there will be stalls displaying popular folk games and toys such as “to he” – toy figurines made from rice dough – and paper paintings. Le Hoang Phuong, the fourth runner-up of Miss Grand International 2023; Le Nguyen Ngoc Hang, the second runner-up of Miss Intercontinental 2023; and Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc, the winner of Miss Intercontinental 2022, have been appointed as the festival’s ambassadors. Vietnam and China strengthen collaboration in cultural and academic exchange

The event was chaired by Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and head of its Commission for Communication and Education, Nguyen Trong Nghia, and Politburo member, Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee’s Secretariat and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, Li Shulei. During the forum, the two sides had fruitful discussions and shared valuable insights in various areas including economy, politics – society, literature, and art. Li commended the research achievements of Vietnamese experts and scholars across different fields, recognizing their positive contributions to the Vietnam – China friendship.
